Had a really great meal and true to the recommendation everything tasted authentic like it was home cooked. I don’t know the names of the dishes by the chicken curry with the ladies fingers was the standout dish. ”
“ I am so happy to come by for my first time having this zhu char. Taste like family homecooked food when I was small. It is flavourful and price is reasonable. Big portion too. Please keep it up. ”

“ Overall a pleasant experience. It is giving the vibe of home-style restaurant, and immerse in the old school recipe of Penang local flavour. Enjoy the home-style cooked cuisine under a cozy environment, inside a historic architecture building from the early days. ”
“ They serve authentic old Penang flavours, the kind that’s getting rare these days. Some may find the taste too mild, but that’s the charm. In Penang, every traditional restaurant has its own signature style, that's what makes them unique and able to survive through generations. We really enjoyed the food — it was tasty, nostalgic, and clearly made with heart. Reservation is recommended. The boss seems to be a one-man show handling both the cooking and calls. Only downside was the front-of-house experience. The two staff at the entrance didn’t greet or assist us even though we were the first to arrive. A warm greeting or simple “how many people?” goes a long way in setting the tone. Great food deserves equally warm service =) Overall, great food and a taste of heritage. Just hope the customer experience at the front can catch up to the quality of what’s coming out of the kitchen. ”
